Phase retrieval from intensity measurements in one-parameter canonical-transform systems

چکیده
We consider the one-parameter canonical transform of an optical signal and derive the relationship between its local spatial frequency (signal phase derivative) and the derivative of the squared modulus of the one-parameter canonical transform with respect to the parameter. From this relationship we conclude that the phase of the signal can be reconstructed by letting the signal propagate in an appropriate one-parameter canonicaltransform system and then measure two intensity profiles for two close values of the parameter. Keywords—phase retrieval, local frequency estimation, one-parameter canonical transform

Phase reconstruction from intensity measurements in linear systems.
The phase of a signal at a plane is reconstructed from the intensity profiles at two close parallel screens connected by a small abcd canonical transform; this applies to propagation along harmonic and repulsive fibers and in free media. We analyze the relationship between the local spatial frequency (the signal phase derivative) and the derivative of the squared modulus of the signal under a o...
متن کاملAmbiguities in one-dimensional phase retrieval from magnitudes of a linear canonical transform
Phase retrieval problems occur in a wide range of applications in physics and engineering. Usually, these problems consist in the recovery of an unknown signal from the magnitudes of its Fourier transform. In some applications, however, the given intensity arises from a different transformation such as the Fresnel or fractional Fourier transform. More generally, we here consider the phase retri...
متن کاملCanonical thermostatics of ideal gas in the frame work of generalized uncertainty principle
The statistical consequences of minimal length supposition are investigated for a canonical ensemble of ideal gas. These effects are encoded in the so-called Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) of the second order. In the frame work of the considered GUP scenario, a unique partition function is obtained by using of two different methods of quantum and classical approaches. It should be noti...
متن کاملPhase retrieval from very few measurements
In many applications, signals are measured according to a linear process, but the phases of these measurements are often unreliable or not available. To reconstruct the signal, one must perform a process known as phase retrieval. This paper focuses on completely determining signals with as few intensity measurements as possible, and on efficient phase retrieval algorithms from such measurements...
متن کاملBoundary-artifact-free phase retrieval with the transport of intensity equation: fast solution with use of discrete cosine transform.
The transport of intensity equation (TIE) is a two-dimensional second order elliptic partial differential equation that must be solved under appropriate boundary conditions. However, the boundary conditions are difficult to obtain in practice. The fast Fourier transform (FFT) based TIE solutions are widely adopted for its speed and simplicity. However, it implies periodic boundary conditions, w...
